I agree whole heartedly! It was very brave of him (and yes, a bit reckless too, but that's what a lot of people are like in childhood - Simba docet) to run after Muntz like he did, even though he had just seen Muntz set Carl's house in fire. And he tried to shield Kevin with his body even when Muntz was shooting - if that's not courage what is? Oh, and on an unrelated note, I like how much his personality mirrors those of Carl and Ellie. He's bold and talkative like Ellie (if only slightly less hyper-active), but he's also a lot like the young Carl in that occasional moments of clumsiness and in how he too clings to his happy memories (with his often absent father, etc). I think if Russell had been the son of that child that Carl and Ellie wanted so desperately, he couldn't have been more like them
